Ronaldo Disallowed Goal - Thanks Nani!

Thanks to Nani, this Ronaldo disallowed goal last night against Spain has got to be one of the best disallowed goals ever. What was Nani thinking!

Ronaldo had a sublime chipped effort disallowed during the 4-0 win over Spain on Wednesday night after Nani needlessly raced in and headed the ball as it dropped under the crossbar. It left Ronaldo furious with his former Old Trafford team-mate, with the winger chucking his captain's armband to the floor in frustration.

“Even a blind man could see it was a goal, the ball was half a metre into the net”
Cristiano Ronaldo

This Ronaldo picture says it all really!

Not only is it a crime that Nani tried to take Ronaldo's goal but he also tries to have the same spotlight as Ronaldo does. If you guys remember, a couple weeks ago he proclaimed himself as one of the best players in the world! Our favorite part at funny football stuff is Carlos Martins screaming at him and waving his arms for screwing that up. We've seen John Terry do the same thing though with a Crouch goal so we are inclined to forgive Nani....perhaps.

Heres Nani's response:

"I touched the ball because it I didn’t think I was offside. I was running forward, the move was very fast. After thinking a while I apologised to Ronaldo; it was a brilliant play and I shouldn’t have spoiled it.”

The ball appeared to have already crossed the line before Nani got his head to it, and Ronaldo slammed the officials after the game for chalking off the strike.

"I don't understand, even a blind man could see it was a goal, the ball was half a metre into the net," he said.

"I don't know if it's a coincidence or not but my best goals with the national team are being disallowed. I remember an overhead kick in the Bessa stadium which wasn't given."

It was clearly a goal. Nani only touched it once it was over the line. The referee and linesman were wrong. That said, Ronaldo's reaction and Nani's decision to head the ball anyway, were terrible.
